Emily Quinn received her M.F.A in painting and drawing from the University of Colorado at Boulder in 2016, and her B.F.A. from Auburn University in 2013. She uses painting as a way to ruminate over her conflicted relationship with feminism, which grew out of her conservative Christian upbringing in Alabama. Specifically, her concerns about women's roles in the home compel her to paint the domestic sphere to elucidate psychoanalytic assumptions about female character. Her work has shown nationally in galleries and museums, including the Wiregrass Museum of Art in Dothan, AL, and The Dairy Arts Center in Boulder, CO. Quinn currently lives and works in Colorado Springs.
